Who We Are
It all started with an egg dropper……..
The Radian Design studio is based near Ipswich within easy reach of the Science and Technology parks of East Anglia. Radian is run by husband and wife team Jonathan and Simone Beadle. They are both Industrial Designers who met at Brunel University, where an egg dropping device was their first project in partnership! Since then, they have worked in both industry and consultancy, gaining a wealth of experience in the design and development of products for a range of market sectors. Although as yet no egg transportation devices!
They are personally involved at every stage of a project, working as a team and are passionate about designing and developing successful, user-centred products for their clients.
Jonathan Beadle
Jonathan has a BSc in Industrial Design and has over 23 years experience in product design and engineering in both manufacturing and consultancy. He has designed and led a range of product development projects from idea generation to manufacturing across diverse market sectors from wiring devices to medical products. His expertise includes extensive knowledge of 3D CAD and complex surfacing techniques. Jonathan has worked in detail on a range of products from light switches to disc replacement implants, toy slot cars to professional video accessories and infusion pumps to petrol pumps.
Jonathan has a passion for all things bike and recently fulfilled an ambition to design and build his own bespoke fillet brazed mountain bike frame.
Simone Beadle
Simone has a BSc in Industrial Design from Brunel and a Diplom in Industrie Design from Fachhochschule Hannover. She has worked in consultancy, designing consumer goods. She has also worked in the manufacturing industry, designing and detailing injection moulded packaging in a multi-national packaging firm, where generating IP through design and patentable technologies was key to success in a competitive market. She is the named inventor on a number of patents.
Outside of work she enjoys drawing portraits, hen-keeping, gardening for wildlife and re-upholstering mid-century chairs.
Simone is a fluent German speaker.
